Guest Judges: TBA & Mark Sherry, Producer VMS Special Musical Guest: “KEEPERS OF THE VIBE” Style/Genre: Funk, Hip hop, R&B Hometown: Hartford, CT Song Link: Created in 2015, Keepers of the Vibe has continuously evolved their sound. The current 5 piece group is an eclectic blend of Funk, Jazz, Gospel, Prog Rock, & R&B musicians. The band is Vocalist Amanda Sloan, Guitarist Devon Long, Drummer Dwayne Keith, Saxophonist Konrad Dziemian, & Bassist Tucker Emerson. Captivating your mind, body & soul, K.O.T.V aims to uplift your spirit. The melodies take you on an atmospheric journey, as you get down to the groovin’ progressions.. CONTESTANTS 1) The Lost Tribe Style/Genre: Afro-funk fusion Hometown: Middletown, CT Song link: Led by percussionist Jocelyn Pleasant, The Lost Tribe performs music rooted in the West African rhythms of the djembe orchestra while incorporating styles like reggae, funk, hip-hop, and jazz. Their performances are high energy and interactive, encouraging audiences to move, dance and clap along! Instrumentation and other members include: Seny Camara: djembe Karim Rome: tenor sax Nathan Davis: trombone Doug Wilson: guitar Mike Carabello: keys Joel Hewitt: bass 2) The Greg Hall Band Style/Genre: Americana, Alt-Country Hometown: Easthampton, MA Song link: In story & sound, the music of Greg Hall lives somewhere between the classic country tradition of Johnny Cash, & modern singer-songwriters like Josh Ritter. He leans on his upbringing on a farm in Connecticut, & the landscapes of Western Mass., where he lives today, as inspiration for upbeat country tracks and thoughtful folk tunes about loss, aging, identity and making sense of the weird modern world. His latest release is Live! At The Barnhouse. 3) Hivebane Style/Genre: Acoustic rock Hometown:Springfield, MA Song Link: Sage King and Anthony John got together to write original music based on their very similar music interests. After quickly realizing the material had potential they recorded an acoustic EP which was released on Halloween 2018 and embarked on a small east coast tour. With the introduction of Nathan Paul on drums & percussion the band has targeted a full electric LP for a late 2019/early 2020 release. 4) Cars Go West Style/Genre: Indie Rock / Psych / Jam Band Hometown: Palmer, MA Song link: Hailing from the humble town of West Springfield, Massachusetts, Cars Go West is an indie jam band with a wide range of influences from the psychedelic to the classic. With a solid rhythm in the hands of drummer, Jimmy Oliver, Cars Go West features Donovan Descant and Craig Buddenhagen on guitars, with Dan Callahan providing bass and vocals. The band formed in 2013. 5) Electrio Style/Genre: instrumental fusion/prog rock Hometown: Hadley, MA Song link: Formed in 2015 as a descendant of New England's jazz/rock fusion band "Birds of Flame", Electrio members Chris Dixon (guitars), Gary Rzab (drums, percussion) and Randy Tougas (fretless bass) set out to create original instrumental musical vignettes. They draw from the worlds of rock, prog, fusion and funk, mixing in odd time signatures and exotic sounds as they weave their soundscapes while always adhering to The Groove.
