Vicar Street - Comedy - Katherine Lynch at Vicar Street

From Event details at DiscoverIreland.ie!: Vicar Street is one of Dublin newest venues, situated in Thomas Street, opposite the church.
From Event details at indublin.ie!: Fresh from the success of two hit RTE series in 2008, “WonderWomen” & “Working Girls”, Katherine Lynch brings her crazy crew of highly unusual, but nigglingly identifiable, modern Irish Women to the Vicar Street Stage in April & May 2009. Tickets are €28 and on sale now through Ticketmaster and other usual outlets nationwide.

Populated by a host of Katherine's larger than life creations, the live show, sometimes naughty and often spontaneous, intertwines the fantastical lives of everyone's favourite characters from both hit series.

Live and very loud on the night will be Leitrim's very own gormless gaffer Liz Hurley, with anecdotes of everything from sheep dipping to sheep tipping, singing with Mohills premier AC/DC tribute band 50/50 and coaching her beloved football team, The Mohill Lassies. Liz might not have had the height for the Guards, but she definitely had the balls!

Also joining the line-up will be travelling “Country 'n Irish” Lino Legend Singing Bernie Walsh, with songs about love, life and carpet remnants. Following the success of Bernie's first album, “Friends In Hiaces”, and her triumphant performance on The Late Late Show, Bernie's spent the last twelve months on an ego driven orgy of rampant self promotion, travelling the length and breadth of the country, appearing at every culchie happening, hickey fair, seafood festival, shindig, knees-up or hoedown you’ve never heard off. Maybe Bernie's grand plan to “get famouser” wasn't as clear cut as she thought it was going to be! Bernie Walsh has a bone to pick and God only knows what she'll say!

Also making an appearance will be International man sponge, xenophiliac happy slapper and serial divorcee Sheila Chic as she exclusively reveals how her insatiable hankering for exotic man-meat has seen her go through more men than Boy George's radiator. And as if that wasn't enough, Liz, Bernie and Sheila will be joined on the bill by the finest selection of Katherine's other alter egos, some familiar, some new, all quite mad!

Leitrim born Katherine kicked off her comedy career in 1998 when she was crowned Alternative Miss Ireland by a panel of celebrity judges headed up by music supremo and all round know it all Louis Walsh for her portrayal of spoof Country and Western “Tampon Info-merical Queen, Miss Tampy Lylette”.

After getting a taste for the limelight, Katherine, a grand niece of Patrick Kavanagh, and her co-creator, Warren Meyler, developed numerous characters and honed their skills in various residencies for over a decade. Katherine finally made the leap to TV in January 2008 when she has spotted in a small cameo role in RTE's late night comedy “The Unbelievable Truth”.

Lynch's left of field attitude and playful disregard for political correctness has so far done her proud. Katherine Lynch brings her menagerie of slightly weird yet strangely lovable characters to Vicar Street for what promises to be one heck of a night. Take it from me, If ya liked the series, you'll love the live show!
