RDS Identifying & Marketing Business Ideas Seminar

Recognising the challenges facing Ireland in the current economic climate this seminar will focus on the generation of business ideas, entrepreneurship and the need for effective business strategies.

The key speakers will be Brian Leavy and Colm O’Gorman, both of DCU Business School. Brian Leavy is AIB Professor of Strategic Management and Academic Director of the Centre for Executive Programmes at DCU Business School. Prior to his academic career, he spent eight years as a manufacturing engineer with Digital Equipment Corporation, now part of Hewlett Packard.

Colm O’Gorman is Professor of Entrepreneurship at DCU Business School. Colm’s research interests include measuring the level of entrepreneurial activity in Ireland. He is co-author of the annual Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report for Ireland, which measures the extent and nature of entrepreneurship in Ireland.

The evening will also allow those present to hear first hand about the challenges and experiences that affect start up companies in the case study section of the evening.
