Description
Order. Desire. Light. An exhibition of contemporary drawings includes some 250 works on paper by a wide range of contemporary artists from around the world from a single private collector.
This exhibition brings together many different approaches to this practice, while focusing on the experimental nature of the medium of drawing and its closeness to poetry.
These drawings respond in a highly individual way to the world, which is somehow ordered within each particular vision, while fulfilling all kinds of desires and casting a particular light on the realm of experience and knowledge.
The exhibition includes works by artists as diverse as Francis Alÿs (Mexico), Alighiero Boetti (Italy), Louise Bourgeois (France/USA), Tacita Dean (UK), Marlene Dumas (Holland), Mike Kelley (USA), William Kentridge (South Africa), Martin Kippenberger (Germany), Juan Muñoz (Spain), Bruce Nauman (USA), Tony Oursler (USA), Sigmar Polke (Germany), Gerhard Richter (Germany), Thomas Schütte (Germany), Antoni Tà pies (Spain), Lawrence Weiner (USA) and Terry Winters (USA), among others.
The exhibition is curated by Enrique Juncosa.
A catalogue with texts by Paolo Colombo, former Curator at the MAXXI-Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI Secolo, Rome; Catherine Lampert, former Director of the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London, and Enrique Juncosa accompanies the exhibition.
