The Great Ireland Run is Ireland's biggest mixed 10km run and takes place on a loop course through the beautiful Phoenix Park in Dublin. The run is now in its tenth year and over 12,000 runners are expected. The event is preceded by Ireland's largest children's run - The Junior Great Ireland Run - for 9 to 15 year olds over 2.5k and 2012 will also feature a Mini Run for 3 to 8 year olds over 1k (with an adult if wished). Great Ireland Run at Phoenix Park

The Great Ireland Run is Ireland's biggest mixed 10km run and takes place on a loop course through the beautiful Phoenix Park in Dublin. The run is now in its tenth year and over 12,000 runners are expected. The event is preceded by Ireland's largest children's run - The Junior Great Ireland Run - for 9 to 15 year olds over 2.5k and 2012 will also feature a Mini Run for 3 to 8 year olds over 1k (with an adult if wished). Events get under way at 11.30am and the run is shown live on RTE television. It is a fantastic fun day out for all the family and every entrant receives a T-shirt, goodie bag and commemorative medal.
