Earth Explorers - Exhibition at The Ark
Cost: Free
Time: 10am â 5pm (Tuesdays â Saturdays); 12pm â 5pm (Sundays)Our world is a constant playground for creativity and nature has always been a source of inspiration. Looking through the eyes of emerging and established Irish contemporary artists, the Earth Explorers exhibition, is curated by Ashleigh Downey, The Arkâs Visual Arts Programmer. The exhibition is designed to encourage children to explore their surrounding environment. Inspire the creative potential in all you see around you.
Within their individual arts practice each exhibiting artist engages with the world around them, and through playful, artistic and scientific processes, connects topics of sustainability with our everyday surroundings.
Everyone is invited to come and explore our environment.
Exhibiting artists include: Anthony Collins; Laura de Búrca; Aoife Desmond; Cathy Fitzgerald; Paula Henihan; Maggie Madden; Bridget McClean; Patricia McKenna; Daragh Muldowney; Moya Muldowney; Ailbhe OâConnell; John OâConnell; Beth OâHalloran; SeoidÃn OâSullivan and Robbie Perry. In addition to the exhibition, a small selection of toys made by children from around the world, on loan from Child Fund, will be on display.
The science element of the Earth Explorers exhibition is supported by Exploration Station.
Earth Explorers, The Arkâs Visual Arts Summer Programme for 2009, is your opportunity to engage creatively with our environment and explore the impact we have on our surroundings through a range of fun, inspirational and imaginative visual arts activities.
