Description
Last year saw a record-breaking 1,064 projects entered into the competition and 480 of those projects qualified to compete in the RDS.

BT Young Scientist - 2006 aims to break that record. 2006 will see a larger prize fund available for the top awards to reflect the importance of the winners' achievements. The BT Young Scientist(s) of the Year 2006 will now receive €5,000 along with the Young Scientist Waterford Crystal Trophy; plus the chance to represent Ireland at the prestigious European Union Young Scientists competition. This is the ninth year of BT's sponsorship of the prestigious competition, which is one of the largest events of its kind in the world. Enjoy shows daily in the Robots of Destruction Arena in the Big Top on Thursday 14th - Saturday 16th January 2006. See the robots battle it out to win the BT Young Scientist Challenge Shield. Be amazed by the Mechanoids and let the robots experts give advice on what makes a good robot.
