Artist that are lined up........ Johnny Rivera Johnny Rivera is a native New Yorker born and raised in the South Bronx. After graduating from high school, Rivera moved to Puerto Rico where he began to sing with a local group. Inspired by his uncle, Adalberto Santiago, Rivera began to show a strong desire to flourish as a Latin singer and learn all the aspects of the salsa sound. Shortly after his arrival to the island, Johnny returned to New York and began working with Johnny Colons workshop band at the East Harlem Music School. He continued to study and improve his singing technique and before long, the singer joined forces with his uncle Adalberto Santiago y La Orchesta. He recorded two albums with Conjuncto Clasico before departing for his solo career. To record his debut solo album, Ahora De Verdad, Rivera headed between Puerto Rico and New York. The album, produced and arranged by Sergio George, contained the Frankie Valli hit, "My Eyes Adored You," in English, the hit song "Necesito Una Amiga", plus the popular salsa versions of "Esa Chica Es Mia" and "Como Fui A Enamorarme De Ti". The salsa singer then recorded his second album, titled Encuentro Casual. The first single from this album, "Te Regalare," became a smash hit upon its release. Official Boricuafest DJs La Maquinaria Musical DJ Willie & DJ Nicky These two "BORICUAS" have been turning it out at Vasillios Night Club one of the most popular salsa clubs in Los Angeles for more than 15 years playing the best of tropical rhythms. La Maquinaria Musical is best known in the salsa scene by the musical difference they bring to L.A. a true Boricua/Caribbean feeling! Areito Borincano Areito Boricano is dedicated to the promotion, education, research and conservation of the Afro-Puerto Rican tradition (Bomba). This non profit organization provides weekly dance and music workshops, stage performances, and collaborations with AfroâÂÂCentric groups and yearly workshop with selected Master Teachers. Freddie Munoz Freddie Muñoz is one of the brightest new additions to hit the Latin/tropical music scene. Slowly growing into popularity, Freddie hits a positive note with everyone who crosses his path. His love for Bachata and his sexy distinctive voice has made him an obvious interest in the Latin market and he's only just begun. Freddie was born in Cataño, PR and was raised in the Bronx with a heightened sense music appreciation. Quique Cruz (El Terrible) A Nuyorican by birth, but representing Southern California, this Emcee/Producer is back at it again. Showcasing his range of styles from raw unadulterated Hip Hop, in songs like "1Boricua" and "Can't Stop Me" to fusions of Dancehall/Hip Hop & Reggaeton, in songs like "Musica & Sexo", "Star Fi Di Show" &"Pa La Isla". Switching from English to Spanish & hardcore to comical, Quique Cruz does it all. Salsalicious An all female non-profit organization dance team Salsalicious has been influencing many young people in positive ways through their one of a kind Salsa and Hip Hop dance moves. Having performed in countless activities in California and Florida Salsalicious continues to pursue their dreams is to be on stage with some of the people we admire and look up to. Alerta 3 Alerta 3 is made up of three young talented members focused on combining, Reggaeton and Merengue House, mixing these rhythms with, Bachata, Cumbia and Salsa. Andy Galvez, from Guatemala leader and founder of the group initiated at an early age by helping choreograph groups and rap until he honed a style of his own. Juan Carlos Gatica from Mexico grew an admiration for the art of rapping and dancing. MamBop Jazz/Salsa Mambo and Be-Bop, the pulsing rhythms that make up the music of MamBop is an exciting combination of driving Cuban and Puerto Rican Mambos and American Bebop Jazz as well as "Salsa Dura" Hard Salsa.
