Detroit, MI.- Sky Covington Production and Vintagedetroit.com Proudly Presents The Basement Groove Show Live @ Club Exodus (upstairs from Greek town restaurant Golden Fleece) , a sexy Greek town loft , 525 Monroe Friday, February 11 , 2011 Door open @ 8pm. Admission is $ 10.00.

The Basement Groove Show is a monthly concert series of the best talent in Detroit and beyond...always a step above, always phenomenal! This is just the beginning...

To get ready for Valentine's Day, we're kicking things off with a lotta LOVE..MJ Robinson and The Woodward Ave. and Sky Covington in a hot double feature!!

Sky Covington voted 2010 best Jazz Female Artist of the year by DBMA . Also known for her Billie Holiday and Nina Simone Revue thru the years, performs some of the most romantic songs of our time..

MJ Robinson aka “ Butch” resides in the Metropolitan Detroit Area, he grew up in a Christian home and sings in the church choir. He was a masculine yet soulful voice that reminisce the classic Motown sound from the 70’s that has been missing. He’s a pianist/singer and songwriter. Robinsons songs speak about love and real live challenges with a combination of original songs hip -hop and R&B. Inspired and charged by the soulful sounds like Stevie Wonder and R Kelly, MJ Robinson has developed his own ability to mend several genres of music , such as jazz, hip hop and R&B.

He recently reunited and collaboration with his child hood singing quartet ”Woodward Ave” Which is comprised of “C-Noch”, “Dr. Mario” and “JVibe”. This throwback quartet sets the tone for Motown in acapella. They are promoting their recent single ,”To be a Man”. You can download music from crybaby.com or revernation.com/mjrobinson.
