Fox Theatre
Fox Theatre is a movie palace and performing arts center located in the Detroit Theater District in downtown Detroit, Michigan. The Fox Theatre Detroit is only one of five Fox Theatres built in the 1920s by film guru William Fox. The Fox Theatre was built in 1928 and became one of the landmarks listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and a designated National Historic Landmark in 1989.The Fox Theatre is a stunning display of architecture done right. The Fox Theatre Detroit follows the Radio City Music Hall in size and has become the second largest theatre in the nation. With a six-story grand lobby, a 13-foot wide chandelier and a global collection of unique gold-embellished decorations, the Fox Theatre is one of the nation’s most extravagantly beautiful venues.
The architecture is not the only thing grand about the Fox Theatre. The Fox Theatre schedule is just as golden as their walls! Hollywood stars like Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and Elvis Presley have all been featured on the Fox Theatre schedule. The Fox Theatre schedule also annually hosted the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. With over 75 years of history, the Fox Theatre Detroit continues to bring its audiences only the biggest and the best in the entertainment industry.
