The Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians is one of the states largest medical specialty organization, with more than 1,500 member physicians, residents and medical students throughout the state. LAFP serves the family medicine community and provides a unified voice for family medicine. The American Academy of Family Physicians, LAFPs parent organization, maintains a membership of more than 94,000 members in 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam. Each summer, members of LAFP come together to determine the policies and priorities of LAFP for the following year. In addition to the business and committee meetings held throughout the weekend, the conference also offers CME on topics of current importance to the approximately 100 members in attendance.
