Make your Lenten observance more meaningful by attending a performance of the Last Supper Drama, as presented by the men of the West Des Moines United Methodist Church at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4114 Allison Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa, at 7 p.m. on February 22. This drama, based on Leonardo Da Vinci’s well-known painting, shows the disciples of Jesus Christ around the table after Jesus announces that one of them will betray him, to which the disciples talk about their association with Jesus Christ and ask, “Is it I?”.
To get to Westminster Presbyterian Church, take Interstate-235 to the 42nd Street exit and go north to Forest Avenue. Go east one block to 41st Street and turn north. Go north on 41st (which becomes Beaver Avenue) until after crossing Franklin Avenue. Westminster Presbyterian Church is on the northwestern corner of Beaver and Franklin.
This season marks the 43rd season for the drama, which is presented by the men of the West
Des Moines United Methodist Church. The drama has been presented over 200 venues around the state such as the Iowa State Center, as far away as Nashville, TN and even on television. About 20 individuals are involved with the presentation of the drama each year.
