Description
Enjoy classic fantasy role-playing in my unique world, "Arr'aman." The Arr'aman world is a Tolkien-esque world, filled with aging empires of humans, elves, dwarves, and hobbits, and a rising specter of evil. The world has its unique elements and some elements you don't normally associate with a fantasy setting. The map I use for Arr'aman is the World of Greyhawk map by TSR. I use the topographic features and place names from Greyhawk. The rest of the world, including its inhabitants and history, is my own creation. I have created a "background" document detailing the most important characteristics of Arr'aman. Check it out at www.brockster.com/arraman.pdf. Here is a link: http://www.brockster.com/arraman.pdf. The game system is also classic - DragonQuest, Second Edition, by SPI, Inc. I have an extra rulebook or two players can borrow during the game session. To get your very own copy of the rules just download the updated and expanded version of the Second Edition rules at www.fantasist.net/dragonquest.shtml. Here is a link: http://www.fantasist.net/dragonquest.shtml. Click on "DQ2ER.zip" to download. For additional optional rules, more gear, more skills, and more magic colleges, including the college of "White" magics, visit www.zimlab.com/dq. Here is a link: http://www.zimlab.com/dq. Click on "DQ Open Source" to download. Dice and and some miniatures will also be provided, but feel free to bring your own. As an RPG enthusiast, I enjoy good role-play, having fun, solving mysteries, developing a character's personality, and a good story. Of course, the game system's mechanics play a part in the fun, especially during combat, or when using a skill, but this aspect of the game is usually secondary to me to the role-play aspect. I bring this attitude with me as a GM. In addition, as a GM, I prefer to let the players come up with their own solutions to the problems that confront them rather than force them to follow a pre-made script. Yes, I have a plot in mind before I run an adventure, but sometimes the PC's create a solution I hadn't anticipated. I let the PC's choose from a range of options or surprise me with a creative approach I had not considered. It all gets woven into the story and the story becomes a true group effort. It's a blast! I hope you can stop by. I look forward to meeting you! - Brock
