Description
This course is designed for students with at least a little shooting experience, and who are interested in building on those skills with practical, real-world training! Application for a Concealed Carry of a Handgun Permit in Colorado requires the student to prove proficiency in firearm safety. This course not only satisfies that requirement, but gives the student invaluable insight into the responsibility, gravity, and mentality that should go along with carrying a concealed handgun. Students completing this course will receive a certificate for submittal with their CCW application.
Topics covered include:
Basic firearm safety refresher
Basic firearm handling refresher
Firearm maintenance
Law and legal section covering:
CRS 18-12-20X Concealed Carry Permit Application
CRS 18-1-70X Use of Physical Force
CRS 18-1-70X Use of Deadly Physical Force
Scenario evaluations
Range qualification
Range qualification consists of a student firing at a target 8 1/2" X 11" at 7 yards. The student will engage with 25 rounds, 20 must puncture the target. Students will have multiple opportunities and range staff will be available for assistance.
Students will provide ammunition, targets will be provided. A free loaner handgun is available.
