A clinical qigong practitioner is very effective in assisting clients and students with their healing processes if the healer first heals her- or himself. The National Qigong Association requires that a student whose training objective is to become certified professionally as a clinical qigong practitioner must graduate from a minimum of 350 hours of didactic education that includes a minimum of 200 hours of formal qigong training. We support the NQAâs criteria professional certification criteria. At the same time, we must stress that training in qigong, whether it be for personal or professional reasons, must be undertaken gradually and under the close guidance of a highly advanced clinical qigong healer and teacher (otherwise serious chi deviations that adversely affect physical and emotional health could result). The first year of Clinical Training for Professional Healing Practitioner and Qigong Teacher Certification commences September 18 and 20, 2009 and consists of 8 weekend meetings throughout a 9-month period between September 2009 and May 2010. Prior to the start of Clinical Training, students must first successfully complete training in "Beginning the Qigong Lifestyle" and "Deepening Qigong Wisdom."
