Sunday, November 15, 2009 12:00PM - 2:00PM Agency: Animal Rescue and Adoption Society Description: ARAS is no-kill cat shelter dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals, and providing a safe shelter and a second chance for homeless cats and kittens. Through outreach programs and community referrals, ARAS seeks to educate the public by providing current information regarding other rescue organizations and services when ARAS is unable to accommodate the animal in need. ARAS is committed to helping animals in need of safe environments and people in need of solutions. Description: This project is proudly managed by Metro VolunteersÂÂ' Impact program. Impact projects are fun and flexible ÂÂ"hands-onÂÂ" projects in the Denver metro area that anyone can join. Animal Rescue and Adoption Society is a no-kill shelter that cares for 200 homeless cats and kittens. Impact Volunteers will do a bit of cleaning and light maintenance in the cat rooms to provide a clean and healthy environment for the cats. Volunteers are also encouraged to spend the rest of their time helping to socialize the cats and give them some much desired attention. All volunteers under 18 must complete the youth liability waiver LOCATED IN THE FILES SECTION TO THE LEFT with a parent/guardian. Youth volunteers 8 and older are welcome to participate with an adult supervisor.
