Description
By William Shakespeare. &128;&156;The Tempest&128;&157; unfolds on an island where the magician Prospero (Arturo Garcia of Gainesville) has been banished after his title of Duke of Milan was stolen from him. Prospero resides with his daughter, Miranda (Cecily Coleman of Hobbs, N.M.). The two have been stranded for 12 years and have come to rule the island. Prospero creates a storm that crashes a ship onto the shore of the island. The ship carries the court of men from Milan, some of whom were responsible for stealing Prospero&128;&153;s title. Among the court is Ferdinand (Jake Thornberry of Wills Point), who is led to the fair Miranda by Ariel (Colleen Carroll of Irving), Prospero&128;&153;s fairy servant. Though Ferdinand and Miranda immediately fall in love, Prospero is fearful of too rapid a courtship.
On another part of the island, the remaining members of the court believe that Ferdinand has died in the storm. Prospero eventually gains control over everyone and offers his forgiveness.
