Edwards will probably come to San Francisco anyway. Fellow Californians: please help a rural area of California win this competition.
www.humboldtforedwards.org
Humboldt County is about 6 hours north of SF. The economy here isn't healthy right now. The timber industry isn't what it once was. Corporate greed and unsustainable logging practices are responsible for that. There is a lack of employment - especially jobs that pay a living wage. Meth is a serious and growing problem here. And a fairly conservative Republican was just elected Mayor of Eureka, our county seat.
In many ways this is a wonderful place to live -- up here in the redwoods, by the ocean -- but there are a lot of serious problems. It's similar to what is going on in rural areas of the south and the midwest. The main difference is that the rural northwest hardly ever gets any attention. We aren't what people think of when they hear "rural America."
But it's these areas that we have to keep blue if we want California to stay a progressive state.

We would love to have you come and share your great vision for America: ending poverty here and abroad, reversing global warming, moral leadership.

Thank you for demanding that I come to your town! I'm honored to know that there are thousands of Americans across the country who want to meet with me to discuss the future of our great nation.
Thanks to you, San Francisco is #4 in the competition, and can easily reach the top!
We're off to a great start -- but let's not stop here. With your help, we can keep this demand going and build the momentum and excitement we need to bring about real, transformational change. Please ask your friends, family, and coworkers to get on their computers, go to eventful.com/johnedwards, and join
your city's Demand as well. If each and every one of you just get one additional person to join the Demand, we'll double our numbers overnight!
Thank you again for your support.

This is an important event, because it's our first "Small Change for Big Change" grassroots fundraiser.
It's very expensive to reach out to voters in early primary states and across the nation. But the trouble with the usual fundraisers is that they are only open to those ready to write huge checks—and this campaign is built on reaching out to everyone.
So John asked his campaign to organize this series of grassroots fundraisers for supporters who share our passion but may only be able to spare $100, $50, or $25 dollars. In fact, for this Thursday's event, tickets are just $15 each.
Here's the link again to RSVP and reserve your spot: http://johnedwards.com/r/15007/806162/

John Edwards for President
Congress has backed down to the president and has given him another blank check to keep the war going. We have to speak out. As an active “Demander” on Eventful, I am asking you to demand that Congress and the president do the right thing.
Californians from San Francisco to Livermore are taking local action this weekend to directly support the troops and build pressure to end the war. You can find and join an event near you or sign up to organize your own action at:
