Event details: Searching the Animal Sciences/Wildlife Biology Literature
Description
Dependent on the subject interests of attendees, bibliographic databases and library resources from the appropriate animal-related Subject Guides will be presented. Potential Subject Guides to be covered are: Animal Sciences, Entomology, Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Marine Biology. If pertinent, the new EBSCO interface to the databases Fish and Fisheries Worldwide and Wildlife and Ecology Studies Worldwide will be reviewed. Relevant e-book collections will also be discussed. Database searching strategies covered include: topic/keyword, title and author searching; using the wildcard and limits; and using the thesaurus, index, and search history features. Current awareness (update/alert) services, citation searching, and how to use UC-eLinks will also be discussed. Learn about the NEWLY licensed Journal Citation Reports which indicates the top journals in each discipline. Register at http://www.lib.ucdavis.edu/classes
