Connecting dance and music in a visceral language of movement and sound, Se�n Curran Company in collaboration with The King's Singers present Solstice. With a newly-commissioned score by Joby Talbot that uses the six vocalists as an abstract, orchestral chorus, the work takes inspiration from ancient architectural landmarks, ritual and mysticism. Hailed as "fresh...invigorating new American dance," (Los Angeles Times) Se�n Curran Company, led by former STOMP! and Bill T. Jones principal dancer Se�n Curran, was formed in 1997 and has since presented more than a dozen premiers in 45 different venues throughout the US, Germany, and France. This year, the State Department selected the Se�n Curran Company to tour on behalf of the US to Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Turkmenistan as part of the cultural diplomacy program DanceMotion USA. Returning to the Norton Center after four years, the multiple Grammy®-winning King's Singers' high musical standards have earned them a place at the apex of a cappella singing. They are counted among the world's elite classical performers and remain consummate entertainers; a class-act with a delightfully British wit.
