The Ocean Institute is a unique venue in Orange County. It is open to the general public on weekends, where you can enjoy hundreds of marine animals and ocean-themed exhibits. On most Sundays, you can take a tour of its tall ship Pilgrim as well. Take advantage of the marine mammal (whale watching) cruises and tall ship sails on weekends. Or, nearby is the Dana Point Marine Life Refuge; take a tour of the tide pools with an Ocean Institute scientist. A great way to learn about our oceans, and the story of sailing on tall ships in the Goldern Era of Sail.
