The Dr. Pepper Ballpark has consistently been ranked as one of the top venues in minor league baseball. It has also hosted games by Major League affiliate, the Texas Rangers, and it has hosted several high school baseball tournaments. In 2005, Dr. Pepper Ballpark was chosen to host the 2005 Texas League All-Star Game and the 2006 TXU Energy Winter Games of Texas.

The venue was hailed by architectural bodies and won the Texas Construction Award for Best Architectural Design and the Best Sports and Entertainment Award in 2003.
