New Year's 5 Mile - Flag Pole Hill

LET'S GET THE NEW YEAR OFF TO A GREAT START... JOIN ME AT THIS FUN RACE. This a fun five mile race that is great for almost all levels. It is one of the best possible ways to start out your New Year. Fast walkers can really test their speed over this distance, and less experienced walkers will have the chance to enjoy the fun of a race environment. Cost: $30 (only $25 until Dec. 21st) $35 on Race Day! Members are responsible for their own race registration and packet pickup. Online registration closes 6 days before the race. See this link for race information and registration: http://www.thrustonracing.com/calendar.html Race location: Flag Pole Hill (Goforth at Northwest Highway) The New Year's 5 Mile starts near the park office at the bottom of Flagpole Hill. (Northwest Highway at Goforth just west of Buckner Blvd.) This scenic course runs north on Goforth, left on West Lawther and right onto the White Rock Creek trail. You will continue up the trail to a turn around point at Fair Oaks. Then head back all the way to the finish line. Walkers participating in any race should have completed an adequate training plan and be able to maintain a pace to complete the event well within the designated time limit.
