Mile after mile of scenic National Forest envelops the city. Often referred to as "City Different," the New Mexico capital is at once steeped in Spanish history and on the cutting edge of modern technology. A bustling plaza sits in the center of the city where visitors can enjoy a number of fine restaurants, trendy shops, and art galleries. Speaking of art, Santa Fe has been voted one of America's top three art cities, thanks to the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, Museum of New Mexico, and Museum of Fine Arts, among others. Nearby lies the Sangre de Cristo, a mountain region popular for skiing, hiking, and picnicking. Ski Santa Fe (website) On Sunday, some of us will optionally spend either one full day ($58 lift ticket) or one morning/ half day ($42 lift ticket) at Ski Santa Fe ski resort. Those who do not ski or snowboard may instead get cozy at the lodge, stay in town and shop, or embark on a scenic mountain drive. http://tbn3.google.com/images?q=tbn:ohgr4GC7edORkM:http://www.gounlimited.org/ski080058.jpg Rental Cars We will have a 1-hour scenic mountain drive from the Albuquerque airport to Santa Fe. I get discount rates that usually cost about $55 per car for the weekend, multiply by 3 cars, and divide 10 ways: $16.50 per person. Gas money should be about $20 each. Please read and agree to our Carpool FAQ and Rules. American Airlines Flights This morning flight out and evening flight back will really maximize our time in New Mexico! DFW to Albuquerque, Sat.
