Join us for an exciting evening with Tomaz Salamun, one of the foremost figures of the Eastern European poetical avant-garde, and award-winning author and screenwriter, Michael Blake. TOMAZ SALAMUN has published more than 35 books of poetry in Slovenian and 10 books in English. His many honors include the Preseren Fund Prize, a Fulbright, and a fellowship to the International Writing program at Univ. of Iowa. He also has served as Cultural Attaché to the Slovenian Consulate in New York. His poetry has been translated into more than 20 languages. His latest collection is Woods and Chalices. MICHAEL BLAKE is the acclaimed author of the novel/screenplay Dances with Wolves, which won an Oscar. Blake was recently the ALA's "Hero of the Year," and his latest work is a memoir about life with a mustang rescue horse, Twelve, The King.
