Description
Walk A - 4 Mile Fitness Walk: Join us on Saturday mornings for a 4 mile fitness walk. Everyone walks their own pace, but we do try to stay together as much as possible. We walk 2 miles and turn to return to our starting point. COME ON... You can do this. START NOW! Walk B - Half Marathon Training Group: It's taper time... Our scheduled walk today for those participating in the half marathon next weekend is 6 miles. We will walk 3 miles out and then return to our starting location. Walkers planning the 6 mile distance should have recently walked a minimum of 4-5 miles. (Half marathon trainees should be walking on their own several days each week in addition to the Saturday walk.) IMPORTANT: OUR START TIME FOR SATURDAY WALKS AT WHITE ROCK LAKE - CHANGES TO 6:30 A.M. BEGINNING DECEMBER 6 Additional Information: We meet at the workout pit. It's in front of the bathroom, across the parking lot from the boat house. (See directions for this location on our message board.) Our walks begin promptly at the posted time. Please be considerate of other walkers. Arrive early enough to find parking, warm up, etc., and be prepared to head out on time. Since most of our walkers are training for events we all walk our own pace. Walkers of similar pace usually choose to walk together, however you may be alone on parts of the walk if you have a different pace. We recommend wearing a small fanny pack that holds your water bottle, identification and anything else you want to carry. It's also important to wear a watch. It may be dark this time of morning. The parking lot is well lit and you can normally see well enough out on the path. If you like you can bring a small flashlight or wear a headlamp. Our meetups are not pet and child friendly unless specifically stated otherwise. Always check the event listing on the web site before leaving for our meetings. View the RSVPs and comments in the "talk about this meetup" section at the bottom of the listing for updates and additional information. Visit our calendar and message board frequently to stay updated.
