A select group of members of the DALLAS UKULELE HEADQUARTERS will be performing on the Main Stage from 4:00pm - 5:00pm - come out and support us- we will be playing Christmas Songs that you all know and love. Bask in the warm glow of history and celebrate the season at Dallas Heritage Village. Bring the family and experience Dallas holidays from 1840 to 1910. Carriage rides along candlelit paths pulled by horses or Nip and Tuck, our Mammoth Jack donkeys A photo with St. Nicholas at the Bandstand Novel wood carvers, potter, storytelling, hand-weaving, blacksmithing Delicious holiday menu in the Chautauqua Pavilion by Eddie Deen Catering Local dancers, choirs and other entertainers on the Main Street Stage and in the Pilot Grove Church and Renner School Exhibit of a privately-owned collection of African-American santas and angels in the Shotgun House Luscious homemade bake sale with treats made by The Guild of Dallas Heritage Village Interpreters in traditional costume throughout the museum bringing history to life Gleeful strolling carolers throughout the Village and inside the historic buildings Historic buildings dressed in traditional holiday decorations from 1840 to 1910 Traditional holiday activities and period games for kids of all ages Event Hours: 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. **Tickets purchased online after December 2 will be held at Will Call.** Tickets: Adults $8.00 Children 4-12 $4.00 Seniors $6.00 PRIVATELY-OWNED COLLECTION OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN SANTAS AND ANGELS Debra Mars of Gifted by Dezyn will be displaying her private collection of African-American Santas and Angels inside the nineteenth century Shotgun House. LOCAL ENTERTAINERS ON 3 STAGES Don't miss some the best and brightest from the community. Local musicians, choirs, dancers, etc. will grace the stages of Candlelight. Strolling carolers will be found in the Village, filling the air with the sounds of the season. Performers and performance schedules available in December. CONCESSIONS AND FOOD AT CANDLELIGHT A holiday buffet feast from Eddie Deen Catering will be served in the Chautauqua Pavilion on December 12 and 13 from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Prices: Adult $12.50; Seniors $10; Kids (8 and under) $7.50 The All-You-Can-Eat Buffet Menu Sliced Brisket Eddie Deen Barbecue Sauce Ranch Beans Homemade Rolls Beef and Chicken Tacos with Salsa Apple Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream Iced Tea Lemonade Concessions items (coffee, hot chocolate, apple cider, water, soda, etc.) will also be available during Candlelight. Frequently Asked Questions Q: What are the advantages of buying my tickets on-line? A: There are two great advantages: You save $2 per ticket in advance and you don't have to wait in line! Remember: to get the online discount, tickets must be purchased by December 9. Q: What if the weather is bad during Candlelight? A: Candlelight operates rain or shine. Please dress accordingly. If the weather is extremely inclement, you may use your tickets any time during the month of December. Q: Where should I park? A: The Village provides onsite, self-parking for $5 per vehicle. Dallas Heritage Village Members may self-park for free. Onsite valet service is available for $10 per vehicle, $5 with a valid handicap tag. There is also limited free parking at the Farmers Market, across the bridge from Dallas Heritage Village on Harwood Street. CLICK HERE for directions to the Village and for special event parking information. Q: Is the Village open during the day on the 12th and 13th? A: No. We do not operate our normal day time hours during Candlelight weekend. We will only be open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Q: What can I eat at Candlelight? A: Eddie Deen Catering is our Candlelight food provider. A buffet of tasty food and drink are available. Buffet tickets may be purchased at the event. Warm Dr. Pepper, Bavarian Nutty Things and the ever popular "Original Kettle Korn" are also available for purchase. Q: How much does a carriage ride cost? A: The carriage rides are $4 per person, per ride. Q: What does my ticket purchase help support? A: Not only has Candlelight served as a unique holiday festival for the last 39 years, its proceeds help Dallas Heritage Village provide educational programs for over 30,000 school children each year.
