About Crane Lake Visitors & Tourism Bureau in Crane Lake, MN
Description
While headquartered at one of the areas modern resorts or RV sites, exploring the lakes in a comfortable houseboat or paddling your canoe rented from one of our outfitters and tenting in a remote lake you will discover the grandeur of this historic area that the Voyageurs once traversed. Bring your camera.
Mother Nature shows her majesty in many ways in the Crane Lake area. Miles of waterways, forests and rocks all beg to be explored. Birds and wildlife can be viewed with a little patience. Songbirds and waterfowl arrive in the spring to nest or migrate further north. Loon and eagle sightings are prevelant. It is common to see deer at any time of the year along with black bear and moose. In their season berries can be picked and eaten. Fishing is still a major activity. Walleye, northern pike, small and large mouth bass, black crappie, lake trout, lake sturgeon and pan fish are caught in these waters.
Winter guests explore Voyageur Country over hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails. It is a unique experience to travel over the frozen lakes or go through the woods covered with a blanket of snow. Our well-marked trails are connected to Minnesota's thousands of miles of groomed trails. A variety of accommodations are available in the winter from housekeeping units to lodge rooms. Excellent restaurants are open to serve you.
