The Nightmare Before ChristmasFree For All Movie Mondays

On sale starting: TBD

From the creative genius of Tim Burton comes this quirky and imaginative animated feature. Jack Skellington, Pumpkin King and ruler of Halloween Town, is tired of doing the same holiday routine every year, so he decides to hijack another holiday and give it his very own special twist, with disastrous – and hilarious – results. With fantastic stop motion animation, and songs written by Danny Elfman, Nightmare is a dazzling mix of fun and fright – that is perfect no matter the Season!

Rated PG, 1993, 1 hour and 16 minutes

Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs or other easily portable seating items. Set-up begins at 5:30 p.m. with the movie starting at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.). In a continuing partnership with the Newport Beach Film Festival, a selection of the best short animated films from this year’s festival will be shown prior to the main feature. Guests may bring their own snacks and picnic suppers. Patina Catering will have assorted snacks and beverages available for purchase. Barbecues and similar food preparation will not be permitted.

Contest:
We are celebrating Christmas in July this week, so “Yule” not want to miss the fun we have planned for The Nightmare before Christmas. Games start at 7:30 and will be open to all good boys and girls! (We’ve checked our list twice!)
Please help us spread Joy to the World, or at least to Orange County, and bring in a toy to donate to those less fortunate.

Puppet-making:
Make your own Jack Skellington…Join us on the plaza starting at 6:30pm to make a puppet of your favorite character from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Beloved master puppeteer Ellen Schulze, better known as the Puppet Lady, will guide fans of the movie in making a puppet. She works on behalf of Segerstrom Center for the Arts to share the art of creating puppets with many organizations, such as Children’s Hospital of Orange County and AIDS Services Foundation, so our community can create, play and delight in the arts.
