Description
Mozartâs trio has been described as one of his most perfectly integrated compositions, with an interplay among the three instruments full of delightfully subtle touches. Bartokâs âContrasts,â based on Hungarian and Romanian dances, was commissioned by American clarinet legend Benny Goodman. Mendelssohnâs Piano Trio quotes the melody of a chorale taken from the 16th-century Swiss Psalter.
