Walking Event:

Daily 9am - 5pm. Closed Christmas & New Year's Eves & Days, Thanksgiving Day. May also close day after Christmas; call first. Youth under age 18 may walk free with credit. Walk on the beach and along the Currituck Sound. See the Currituck Lighthouse and the 1920s vintage Whale Head Hunt Club, (both open for tours). Route is on varied trail surfaces including the sandy beach, paved and unpaved streets, sidewalks and gravel trails through this Outer Banks resort community. Occasionally whales and frequently porpoises are sighted along the Corolla beaches. Alternate route is given for those who wish to bypass the beach sections. Strollers or wheelchairs may do parts of walk bypassing beach and sound sections. Insect spray is recommended and please carry water. GPS; N36deg 22.77’, W75deg 49.77’.
