It would have been great for this to be on a weekend so more people could attend. My vote as well as many of my friends votes helped get him there, it would be great to actually be able to attend.

Rather poor choice of time and day, for the working class. I myself work that day, and would have loved to have attended this function, as i have put in much time and effort in securing votes for him to come too this town. I was able to secure votes from friends and relatives from coast to coast, only to miss it. And to think I would have had a grand view as well, watching his arrival. Guess i will have to watch it on the news.

John Edwards
John Edwards was born in Seneca, South Carolina and raised in Robbins, North Carolina, a small town in the Piedmont. Working alongside his father at the mill, John developed his strong belief that all Americans deserve an equal opportunity to succeed and be heard. A proud product of public schools, John became the first person in his family to attend college. He worked his way through North Carolina State University where he gr...

Columbus-Belmont State Park
Columbus-Belmont State Park is a 156-acre site that played a fascinating role in the War Between the States. This is the site of fortifications built by the Confederates and later occupied by Union forces. The 1861 Battle of Belmont, a raid fought to test the strength of this Confederate stronghold, marked the opening of the Union's Western Campaign. It was also Union General Ulysses S. Grant's first active engagement in the Civil War. Some of the artillery, which shelled the Union troops, and the six-ton anchor that held the great chain stretching across the river, are on display in the park.
