Fountain City Roller Derby Recruitment Party

FOUNTAIN CITY ROLLER DERBY WANTS YOU!!

How would you like to join the newest roller derby league in the Columbus and Phenix City areas? The Fountain City Roller Derby is currently recruiting members to skate, referee, and support them. The only requirements include being 18 years of age or older, having plenty of attitude, and the willingness to learn the sport. FCRD is presently sponsored by Gr8 Sk8, skate center located in Phenix City, and allows members of the roller derby team without their own skates to rent free of charge. The team practices every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 8pm at Gr8 Sk8.
A recruitment party will take place on Thursday March 1st at the National Infantry Museum, located at 1775 Legacy Way, Columbus, Ga 31903. Doors will open at 6pm and you will have the opportunity to speak one on one with current members about the roller derby. At 6:30pm a presentation about the sport of roller derby and how to play will take place followed by a chance to participate in the socks only derby. A screening of the movie Whip It, starring Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page, will conclude the party. Refreshments will be available, please no outside food or drinks.
Take advantage of this opportunity to get to know and join your local Fountain City Roller Derby! We would like to welcome all skate skill levels, as well as all genders. As a member of M.A.D.E. (Modern Athletic Derby Endeavor), the league has the opportunity to have a Women’s, Men’s and Co-Ed teams.
