Workshop: Miniature Canvas Beeswax Collage

The perfect way to spend a winter afternoon! Create a beautiful miniature collage piece using pure beeswax, pressed botanicals, color images and translucent vintage papers. Participants receive two 6 X 6"" stretched canvasses, one to test effects, one to create a finished work of art. Explore basic beeswax collage techniques, as well as encaustic painting, and the application of various colored waxes, pastels and metallic pastes. Each student receives a kit of collage materials, embellishments and finely pressed botanicals. The beautifully evocative effects possible and the aroma of beeswax will inspire you to further explore this fine medium.
