Description
Presented by Columbus Center for Paper & Book Arts

Saturday, December 5, 2009 (12:00 pm - 4:00 pm) Make several gifts inspired by nature, all beautifully packaged. Create scented water and natural vanilla potions, sealed in apothecary bottles with beeswax. Make a gift for the birds, with a large pinecone encrusted with seeds and suspended in a large, vintage-styled jar. Hand bind a nature journal, complete with real fall leaf printed pages. Use origami to create tiny bird earrings, with sterling silver findings and Austrian crystals, that you'll package in a special twig nest box. Use beeswax to "collage" a candle with herbs, pressed flowers and imagery, embedding with real frankincense and myrrh. Projects presented round-robin style, making this a fun and relaxing fall day at the studio. Recipes shared and projects designed so you can recreate at home to make an array of artful, nature-inspired gifts; perfect for creating "en masse" for the upcoming holidays. All materials supplied. Please bring BTK; if handy, wire-working tools (wire cutters, round nose and needle nose pliers). Workshop includes special Christmas Tea.
Saturday, December 5- 12:00-4:00 p.m. ALL / 4 hours / $49

BTK = Basic Tool Kit: Pencil, X-acto Knife, Glue Stick, Scissors, Metal Ruler, Bone Folder & Cutting Surface.
