Description
A dazzling array of musicians from North America, Europe, and Africa will be featured during the 2009 - 2010 CityMusic season. The 26th season includes 9 concerts by internationally renowned classical, jazz, swing, and world beat artists. According to Steve Rosenberg, Artistic Director, "CityMusic brings a wonderful variety of artists to Columbus, often for the first time. Our concerts are a window to the world, a delightful musical adventure." Concerts for the 2009-2010 season are as follows:
Luminescent Orchestrii is: Romanian gypsy melodies, salty tangos, hard-rocking klezmer, haunting Balkan harmony, hip-hop beats and Appalachian fiddle, all eaten and spit out by two violins, resophonic guitar, bullhorn harmonica and bass. One critic describe the band as, "Dan Hicks & his Hot Licks playing tangos in Budapest...endless onstage energy, some truly romantic slow-dance numbers, quality musicianship and an adoring audience."
