True/False Film Fest

In early March of each year, the True/False Film Fest honors fine work in the blossoming field of non-fiction filmmaking. Daring, often low-budget and more revealing than any other genre or technique, documentary film has come to embody what, as an interested public, we deserve from our media landscape.

We have shown long-form examinations of complex issues; tight, humorous stories of curious people and places; fresh and unexpected glimpses of life from around the globe—above all, films that push the boundaries of their genre and blur the line between fact and fantasy, documentary and narrative, propaganda and journalism.

Focusing on collegiality and the connections between diverse filmmakers rather than on awards and honorifics, True/False fosters non-competitive camaraderie and an unhurried opportunity view and discuss great films.
