The 83rd Annual National Public Parks Tennis Championships are being hosted at the Lexington County Tennis Complex. The tournament is open to players of all ages and ability levels, and there will be $5,000 in prize money in the age division events. Junior Divisions will play July 25 â 28th and the Adults will play from July 30th â August 2nd. Family Fun Divisions (4.0 NTRP and below) and more competitive Family Open Divisions (4.5 NTRP and higher) will also be offered. The family divisions will include play in Husband/Wife, Father/Son, Mother/Daughter, Father/Daughter and Mother/Son divisions. There will be many other divisions including: NTRP, Open, Wheelchair and Adaptive divisions. In addition to the great tennis, a Casino themed player party featuring a live band, buffet, kid's activities, and silent auction, will be held on Thursday, July 30th at the Radisson Hotel off Bush River Road. Lucy Garvin, USTA President and South Carolina resident, will attend the party along with Rex Maynard, USTA Southern President, and Stan Smith, former Wimbledon Champion and world famous tennis coach.
This is an excellent opportunity for South Carolina players to test their skills against competition from around the nation. Even if you're not a tennis player, this is a great opportunity to see exciting tennis and have lots of fun, while supporting your local community.
