But nestled between the prestigious Pepperdine University and the picturesque views off the Pacific Coast Highway is the area's only trailer park. This is where rising hip-hop star Shwayze was raised by his grandparents. As the self-proclaimed "only black kid in Malibu," Shwayze grew up daydreaming about embarking on a big-time music career. After befriending Hollywood socialite Cisco Adler, Shwayze signed with Suretone Records and saw his first single, "Buzzin'," take flight. Ever since then, Shwayze's life has been moving at warp speed -- and he's loving every minute of it. Laid-back but enthusiastic, Shwayze is excited to be on such a wild ride, but he's not always prepared for where it takes him. Although his talent is unmistakable, he's still a rookie when it comes to the music business. There are a lot of mistakes that can be made on the way to the top, and it looks like he's checking them off one by one. Luckily, Shwayze's friends are around to help him out -- even if they usually make things worse before making them better. Cisco Adler, who isn't shy when it comes to being in the public eye, tries to keep Shwayze from falling into the standard pitfalls of fame. But Cisco's really just a rocker at heart, and that means he doesn't let anything -- even his own advice -- get in the way of having a good time.
