November Meeting (Moved to THIRD Thursday this month)

Our very own Marcia Ford will be speaking at this month's meeting, which is being held on the THIRD THURSDAY--November 20th--instead of our usual fourth Thursday due to Thanksgiving. Marcia is the author of Memoir of a Misfit and Meditations for Misfits, plus more than a dozen other books, including Restless Pilgrim: The Spiritual Journey of Bob Dylan (with Scott Marshall). Her newest book--We the Purple--is on independent voters and garnered alot of national attention prior to the election. In addition to speaking fequently, Marcia is also a contributor to Publishers Weekly, a book reviewer for FaithfulReader.com and a columnist for Explorefaith.org. She is also a sought-after instructor and mentor at writers' conferences, where her topics include: Writing Your Life Story, One Last Look: Polishing Your Manuscript, Getting the Most Out of Interviews, Seeing the Story, The Neverending Writer, Reading for Writers, Dreaming and Daydreaming, Writing for a Postmodern World, Transition, Transition, Transition, Getting It Right: Journalism for the Easily Distracted, Humor as Ministry, Creative Book Promotion and Writing for the Christian Market. PLUS she's cute and has a great smile. What more could you possibly ask for? She will be speaking to us on writing memoirs, although I'll bet if we're nice to her she would be willing to answer additional questions from the group on other publishing topics as well. We'll be meeting at Cucuru's around 6:00 to eat and chat informally, with our meeting startiing at 7:00 and wrapping up by 8:30. As you know, Cucuru's has AMAZING food and everything is absolutely delicious, so come hungry! See you there!
