Walking Event:

Daily 10-5; walk during daylight hours only, please. Closed New Years, Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas. Trail is dirt with some boardwalks, hilly areas and steps. Hiking boots and walking sticks are recommended. This well-maintained trail takes you through the beautiful hills and forests of Geauga County. 5K trail is rated 1+ due to one downhill slope, and goes to a beautiful observation deck. 10K goes to "Ansel's Cave", an area rich with legends of Civil War soldiers, runaway slaves and bootleggers. West Woods provides a haven for several species listed as potentially threatened including the mourning warbler, tall manna grass and the butternut tree.
