Where: The Cleveland Institute of Art Gund Building, 11141 East Blvd., Cleveland
One gallery, three exhibits, five outstanding panelists adds up to a Blockbuster Night at The Cleveland Institute of Art on November 6. Be one of the first to see national and international exhibits and hear from an international panel on the forces that drive modern design. All exhibits and the panel discussion are free and open to the public and will be held in CIA's Gund Building.
Join us on November 6 for a night dedicated to the art of design as we feature:
- The North American premiere of 17 Swedish Designers - showcasing the unique influence of 17 female Swedish designers on the contemporary Swedish design industry. See works in glass, ceramics, textiles, metal, wood and plastic. The opening starts at 6:30 p.m. Exhibit runs through December 19 in the Reinberger Galleries.
- Before touring the 17 Swedish Designers exhibit, attend our Opening Night Panel Discussion featuring five design industry leaders who will speak on Cultural Values in Design: Global and Local Influences. This panel discussion will be held only on November 6 and begins at 6 p.m. in the Gund Building Aitken Auditorium.
- AIGA 365: Annual Design Competition 30 - See the nation's best visual communications design solutions from the annual competition sponsored by AIGA, the professional design association. This exhibit runs through December 19 and includes a selection of AIGA's 50 Books/50 Covers of 2008. The opening starts at 6:30 p.m. Exhibit runs through December 19 in the Reinberger Galleries.
- Reinberger Galleries Blackbox Theater - See the latest video works by Annetta Mona Chisa and Lucia Tkacova from Prague including Manifesto of Futurist Women (Let's Conclude). This work explores gender relations as well as the role of Eastern European artists in a Western-dominated art world. These works will run through December 19. The opening starts at 6:30 p.m. Exhibit runs through December 19 in the Reinberger Galleries.
