W inter is a wonderful time to hike. You donÃÂ't have to worry about poison ivy or ticks and the scenery is just beautiful. Many of the sandstone cliffs in the area are covered with ice and without the leaves on the trees you can see many of the rock formations better than any other time of the year. Join park naturalist, Rebecca Clark as she guides a hike of several trails within the park and forest. It will last approximately 4 hours. Hikers will hike the lake trail and a portion of the Pennyrile Nature Trail. Winter Wonderland Hike When: March 20, 2010 Time: Hike departs from the lodge lobby at 11AM. Registration: $12.00 per person. Registration fee includes: water, snack, and transportation (if needed). Restrictions: It is not recommended for children under the age of 8. Driving time: ~1. 5 hrs (one way) . Please indicate with your reservation if you would like to be a driver, carpool, or if you will meet the group at the park.
