Band/EventHispanics asked to support St. Jude

While overall cancer deaths among kids and teens in the U.S. have become rarer in recent years, according to a CDC study, Hispanics had a slower decline in their childhood cancer death rate than non-Hispanics. Access to health care may have influenced that trend.

To help children continue to get the care they need, St. Jude has partnered with Proctor & Gamble and Target for a campaign from October 19 &150; 25 where consumers can help St. Jude in its fight to find cures and save children simply by purchasing participating Procter and Gamble (P&G) brands including Tide, Bounty, Charmin and Cover Girl as well as other manufacturers brands at Target stores nationwide. For every purchase of a participating brand during the week-long campaign, 5 percent will be donated to St. Jude.

St. Jude is one of the worlds premier pediatric research centers and treats many Hispanic patients with cancer and other catastrophic diseases, It also has extensive operations in Latin America, helping make it a popular charity in that region.
