WINTER DESSERT POTLUCK & DISCUSSION

We will enjoy a Dessert Potluck with member contributions (appreciated but not required for attendance at this event). We will discuss what ingredients make for a healthy dessert, where desserts fit into a traditional meal plan, and tips to using ingredients you are not used to using. Check both the 'DESSERTS' and 'SNACKS & FINGER FOODS' in the 'Nourishing Traditions Cookbook for ideas. Bring something you are very comfortable making, experiment with a 'Nourishing Traditions Cookbook' recipe, or adapt a recipe to make it a healthy version. Please bring enough for 8-10 portions and an index card with the ingredients. PS If you are pressed for time, bring some toppings such as a bowl of real whipped cream, crispy nuts, coconut flakes, carob chips. Donation requested We will be in an excellent facility this year that allows us to expand and have many benefits, not to mention the incredible beautiful setting. As a result we ask you to help us to afford this venue by noting $3.00 per person requested donation. Library We have a well stocked library and a new librarian, Jettie. The library has WAPF Conference tapes, books, DVDs and WAPF quarterly journals. There is a nominal fee for borrowing item so we can continue to grow the library. A deposit check is required. We would appreciate any donations of books, tapes etc (which are in keeping with the WAPF ideas) you wish to make. Bring- Dessert contribution Nourishing Traditions Cookbook and a notebook Plate and utensils for sampling foods Small bills and change for purchases Any library materials that are due Cooler for purchases Time All meetings are held on Sunday from 3-5pm. Library and Marketplace will be open from 2:30- 2:55 and again after the meeting. Where We are happy to announce that we have a great venue for our meetings this 08/09 year that will accommodate our growing attendance. The Cincinnati Civic Garden Center shares many of our same values and mission, including taking responsibility for our soil and therefore our food. (It all starts with the soil!) The center is a real Cincinnati treasure and we are looking forward to all the cross-fertilization that our use of this facility will offer.
