Cincinnati, OH 45214 513 241-9622 mailto:ssanders@cincinnatiymca.org mailto:azupka@cincinnatiymca.org This Meetup is aimed at those interested in African dance. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned pro, there is a host of instructors and assistants to help you learn to move with the live, loud, energetic drumming. Drummers, on the other hand, should have about two years African drum training because the repertoire is pretty rigid. Dancers rely on the rhythm patterns and the breaks to be precise. Baba Atiba, Baba Fareed, Lamont, and Levi will help you fit in but it is best to understand the norms and subtleties of African traditional drumming.
