Hawthorne Heights
Hawthorne Heights formed in 2001 originally under the name A Day in the Life. Hawthorne Heights' drummer, Eron Bucciarelli, stated in the bonus edition DVD of The Silence in Black and White that Hawthorne is a reference to the author Nathaniel Hawthorne and Heights refers to transcendentalism. Another explanation, with an unknown origin, is that the name is a portmanteau of "Hawthorn (sic) Hill" and "Huber Heights," names of two areas around the band's hometown of Dayton, Ohio.
