“Supercharged songs with a hooky playfulness and white-knuckle power…” —Esquire

“Lit up and charged…four-part harmonies that are close to being crystalline.” —Daytrotter

Acclaimed band Trampled by Turtles continue to receive praise for their new album Stars and Satellites available now on Thirty Tigers/RED. Since forming in Duluth, Minnesota in 2003, Trampled by Turtles always felt they were able to attain an energy on stage that can’t be found in the studio. For Stars and Satellites, however, Trampled by Turtles didn’t want to simply try to recreate a live show. “We wanted to make a record that breathes,” explains Dave Simonett (guitar/vocals), “musically we wanted to step out of our comfort zone.” “You know how sometimes they say ‘less is more,’” notes Erik Berry (mandolin), “that’s what Stars and Satellites is about.”

The Devil Makes Three - "Black Irish" (Live at The Mystic Theater) The Devil Makes Three- "Working Man's Blues" The Devil Makes Three - Do wrong right
The Devil Makes Three are quite possibly the best band that you have never heard of. They have been constantly on tour, selling out dates across the country and in their neck of the woods on the West Coast drawing near capacity crowds nightly. This is all word of mouth. For the past 7 years, the Devil Makes Three have garnered fans the old school way, playing a city, making friends, conquering fans and moving on.

Laced with elements of ragtime, blues, country, folk and rockabilly, the critically praised, drummer-less trio - consisting of guitarist/front man Pete Bernhard, stand-up bassist Lucia Turino and guitarist Cooper McBean - brings forth a genuine approach to acoustic music. The sound is deeply steeped in rhythm and alive with three part harmonies, while keeping a slightly punk aesthetic to their music and especially their live shows.

Cost: 20.00
