This symposium will present the recent progress and future perspectives in Spine Surgery. We will cover major areas of research: measuring outcomes of operations for spine disease, studying the biomechanics of the spine, spinal cord repair, and prospects for replacing spinal cord function when repair fails. We will also explore the technological innovation that will change the future of surgeon training.
Focus in spine surgery is shifting from technical advancements allowing the performance of complex procedures to research aimed at understanding the pathophysiology and patient outcomes. We will focus on scientific advancements and research that are creating the future of spine surgery.
