Description
Wise Fools is divided into two rooms--the one with the bar and the one with the stage. The small size of the stage room transforms many performances into interactive events. Seating is pretty limited, so arrive early if you want to be close.
Drink prices run average ($3-4 for most beers) and selection is average. The guys that own the bar are often present and extremely friendly, so chat them up if you get a chance. On my first visit to the pub, one of the owners bought us a round of drinks and, as closing time neared, asked the bouncer to escort us to our car a few blocks away to ensure our safety. It was that unnecessary but considerate gesture, along with the outstanding live music, that turns this everyday tavern into a regular stop.
